The Big Shift

Your customers
stopped Googling.

They asked ChatGPT. Got a ready answer with a business recommendation. Was it yours?

2022
Google — 8.5 billion daily queries. Every one ends with a click on a link.
2024
ChatGPT reaches 100M monthly active users. Growing exponentially.
2025
AI Overviews (Google) appears in 14% of all search results. Organic clicks drop. Trend accelerating.
2026→
Projections: 25–40% of queries will go to AI chatbots. The bot answers for the user. Your site — either it's a source, or it doesn't exist.
💡
This isn't a distant future. Every day AI bots visit thousands of sites — looking for who to recommend, what to add to an answer, whose opinion to quote. The question is no longer "what's my Google ranking."

It is: "Does AI know my business exists — and does it trust me enough to recommend me?"
Why It Matters

No one measured this for you before.
We're changing that.

Google Analytics, Semrush, Hotjar — none of these tools see AI bot traffic. Szef Monitor is the first indicator that tells you whether AI knows you at all.

🔕

AI bots leave no trace in GA4

AI bots don't run JavaScript — they don't trigger Google Analytics or any standard tracker. They visit your site in silence. Without Szef Monitor, you don't even know they were there.

Your competitor was cited before you knew

Businesses that understand AI SEO now will be recommended by ChatGPT next year. Every week of delay is a week where AI users hear about someone else.

🎯

You can't optimize what you don't measure

Szef Monitor is your starting point. You'll learn: which bots visit you, which pages they read, when ChatGPT used your site as a source for an answer.

What We Track

Two types of AI visits.
Two very different meanings.

Szef Monitor distinguishes a model-training bot visit from a real-time visit when someone is asking AI about you right now.

⭐ Live Fetch

Someone is asking AI about you right now

A bot visits your site because a user asked a question and AI is checking the answer in real time. This is the most valuable traffic — direct, immediate visibility.

ChatGPT-User (OpenAI)
Claude-User (Anthropic)
Perplexity-User
Meta-ExternalAgent
DuckAssistBot
🕷 Training Crawl

AI is learning from your site

A bot collects data for training its model. Your content enters the AI knowledge base. Regular crawls mean AI knows and indexes your domain.

GPTBot (OpenAI)
ClaudeBot (Anthropic)
Googlebot → Gemini
bingbot → Copilot
Applebot, PerplexityBot, PetalBot & more

We're blazing the trail.
Join before your competition does.

Companies like Semrush or BrightEdge offer these analytics — for $500–$2,000/month. We're building this for the Polish diaspora in the USA and Poles worldwide, with benchmarks from 60+ of our own domains.

It's free now because we need data for calibration. In 6 months it will be paid. Companies that join now have an information advantage — and stay on the free plan forever.

Why Other Tools Fall Short

Simulations vs. reality.
A big difference.

Most AI visibility tools ask ChatGPT if it knows your site. We verify whether the bot actually came to your server.

❌ Simulation Tools

They send queries to AI and see what it responds

🎲Result depends on a random AI response — same phrase, different answer every time
🌫Don't show whether the bot was on your site — only whether AI "knows about" it
💸$200–$2,000/month for data that can be false positives
Check a few phrases — the rest of your site is invisible
🔮"Your site appears in ChatGPT" — but for what query? Unknown.
✅ Szef Monitor — server data

Records actual bot visits on your server

📍Real IP, real timestamp, real page — zero simulation
Distinguishes Live Fetch (someone asking AI now) from Training Crawl (bot learning)
🆓Free for early adopters — the same data others pay hundreds of dollars for
🌐Tracks your ENTIRE site — every subpage, every URL the bot visited
🔗See where the bot came from (referrer) — e.g., it followed a link from another site

FAQ

Everything you want to know
about tracking AI bots.

Ask a question if it's not below: [email protected]

Basics
Szef Monitor is a tool that tracks AI bot visits (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, bingbot and others) on your website. It works server-side — logging every visit in real time. Unlike Google Analytics, it focuses exclusively on AI traffic, not human visitors.
For anyone with a website who wants to know if they're visible in AI — business owners, marketing agencies, freelancers, e-commerce. Especially useful for the Polish diaspora in the USA and Poles worldwide competing for visibility in the English-language market.
It's completely free right now for early adopters. We're collecting data and building benchmarks from 60+ of our own domains. In a few months we'll launch paid plans — businesses that join now stay on the free plan forever. No credit card, no commitment.
Yes. It works with WordPress (plugin), static HTML sites, and any PHP service. The only requirement is server access (FTP/cPanel) or the ability to install a WP plugin. No database modifications or code changes required.
Technical Setup
1. Register your domain and receive your API key (site_key). 2. Download the Szef Monitor WP plugin. 3. Upload via WP Admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload. 4. Activate and paste the API key in settings. The whole process takes 2 minutes.
Via cPanel MultiPHP INI Editor set: auto_prepend_file = /home/user/public_html/szef-monitor-prepend.php and upload the prepend file we provide. Works for all domains on the account — one file covers hundreds of sites.
No. The beacon (notification to our server) is sent via register_shutdown_function — meaning after the page is already sent to the user's browser. The user waits for nothing. Additional load time: 0ms perceptible to humans.
For the prepend method — yes, you need cPanel or SSH. For WordPress — WP Admin access is enough. If you have Wix, Squarespace or another builder without server access — contact us, we're working on alternative solutions.
AI Bots & Classification
Live Fetch: ChatGPT-User, Claude-User, Perplexity-User, Meta-ExternalAgent, DuckAssistBot, AmazonBuyForMe.
Training: GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Googlebot, bingbot, Applebot, PerplexityBot, PetalBot (Huawei), Bytespider (ByteDance/TikTok), CCBot, cohere-ai, Meta-ExternalFetcher, anthropic-ai. List is regularly updated.
Live Fetch is a real-time bot visit — someone just asked ChatGPT or Claude something and AI visited your site to answer. This is the most valuable type of traffic — direct proof that AI is recommending your site to users at this very moment.
A Training Crawl is a bot visit to collect data for training an AI model. Your content enters the AI knowledge base. Regular crawls are a good sign — AI "knows" your domain and may cite it in the future. No crawls = your site doesn't exist for AI.
Yes and no. Googlebot crawls sites for Google Search — that's classic SEO. But Google uses the same data to train Gemini and Google AI Overviews. That's why Szef Monitor tracks Googlebot as a "training" bot — every visit may feed Google AI.
Technically yes — anyone can set any User-Agent. That's why serious bots (GPTBot, ClaudeBot) verify themselves via reverse DNS — the IP matches the official OpenAI/Anthropic pool. Szef Monitor will verify IPs in the future. For now we identify by User-Agent string, which is sufficient for 99% of cases.
Interpreting Results
We're collecting benchmark data from 60+ of our own domains to answer this. Preliminary finding: sites with updated content (blog, news) get significantly more visits than static brochure sites. Zero visits per week = alarm — either the installation isn't working, or the site is invisible to AI.
That's specific information about what AI is looking for on your site. If ChatGPT-User reads /services/ — someone just asked AI about services similar to yours. If a bot reads /contact/ — AI may be answering "how do I contact [company]." This data helps you optimize content for AI.
That's a call to action. Check: (1) whether robots.txt blocks GPTBot/ClaudeBot, (2) whether your site has content structure bots can index (headings, paragraphs), (3) whether other sites link to your domain. Contact us — we perform AI visibility audits.
There's a correlation, but it's not a simple equation. More training crawls = AI better "knows" your content. Live Fetch = AI is already citing you. But content quality, domain authority, and topical match to the query also matter enormously. Bot visits are one of many signals.
AI SEO & Visibility
Traditional SEO = optimization for Google's ranking algorithm (keywords, backlinks, Core Web Vitals). AI SEO (GEO — Generative Engine Optimization) = optimization for language models that cite your site in their answers. Different factors, different metrics, different tools. Szef Monitor is the first tool measuring the real effect of AI SEO.
GEO is optimizing your site for generative engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude). The goal isn't a Google ranking but being cited by AI in responses to user questions. Key factors: clear content structure, topical authority, regular updates, bot-friendly format. Szef Monitor measures whether your GEO efforts are paying off.
Depends on your goal. If you want AI to cite you — DON'T block GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot. If you have content you don't want in AI databases (private documents, pricing, client data) — block selectively. Blocking all bots = invisibility in AI = no recommendations from ChatGPT and Claude.
Based on data from our network: Googlebot appears within a few hours to a few days after publishing. GPTBot and ClaudeBot — from a few days to a few weeks. Live Fetch bots (ChatGPT-User) come immediately when someone asks AI about your topic. Szef Monitor shows you exactly when it happened.
Comparison with Other Tools
Google Analytics tracks traffic via JavaScript (gtag.js). AI bots don't execute JavaScript — they visit a page as a simple HTTP request. GA doesn't see them. Szef Monitor works at the PHP/server level, before any JavaScript runs — it catches every bot.
Semrush and Ahrefs track search engine rankings — Google, Bing, Yahoo. They don't show AI bot traffic or ChatGPT citations. Szef Monitor is a complement, not a competitor — it measures a dimension that Semrush/Ahrefs completely ignore. You can use both simultaneously.
Those tools simulate queries — they ask ChatGPT "do you know site X?" and report the answer. Problem: AI gives different answers every time. Szef Monitor records actual visits on your server — real IP, real timestamp, real page. Zero simulation, 100% real data.
Privacy & Security
No. Szef Monitor tracks ONLY known AI bots — identified by User-Agent. Regular users (humans) are completely ignored. We don't collect user IP addresses, cookies, or personal data. Bot IPs are hashed (SHA-256) — we don't store raw IPs.
Yes. Since we don't collect any personal user data (only bot traffic, no IPs), GDPR practically doesn't apply to us. AI bots are not natural persons. For certainty: installing Szef Monitor doesn't require any changes to your site's privacy policy or cookie banners.
Data is stored on Media Express LLC servers in the USA. Each domain has a unique API key (site_key) — no one else can see your data. The dashboard is protected by this key. The key is not publicly available — we send it directly to the domain owner.
Future & Roadmap
Planned: (1) email alerts when a Live Fetch bot visits, (2) weekly PDF reports, (3) benchmark — compare your domain to similar sites, (4) Google Search Console integration, (5) API for agencies managing multiple clients. Early adopters influence priorities — tell us what you need.
Yes, and fast. In 2024, traffic from AI referrers (ChatGPT, Perplexity) grew over 1,000% year over year. Millions of users ask AI instead of searching Google. Businesses that optimize for AI now will lead in 2–3 years. Those who wait will be chasing the competition.
